For the first time ever, one lucky author is going to be crowned Queen of Teen!

We asked you to tell us why you believe your favourite author should win this prestigious award, and we'd like to thank all of you who wrote in. We were thrilled by how many replies arrived at Queen of Teen HQ, and by how passionate you were about the authors you love. Some of them made you cry, others made you cry with laughter. Some of you wrote about the characters you loved, others about the stories you couldn't bear to put down. And some of you made us rush to check out books we'd never read ourselves!

If you sent in a nomination you'll have been entered into a competition to win a place at the super-glamorous coronation ceremony on Monday September 29th 2008. Ten lucky girls will be spending time in a limousine with the author they have championed, and will see the winning author crowned at the ceremony. Details of the event are still hush hush, but you can probably guess that all forms of sparkly pink fabulousness will abound!

Don't worry if you haven't won a place, though, as we still want you to get involved by voting for your favourite female author from the shortlist based on your nominations.
