The Queen of Teen Award was set up in 2008 to highlight the amazing array of brilliant books being written by female teen authors.

We asked you, the readers, to tell us why you believe your favourite author should be named Queen of Teen and we were delighted by the response. We received hundreds of nominations and it was fab to see how passionate you are about the authors you love.

Eventually a clear shortlist featuring ten fantastic writers emerged and voting for the winner commenced. We received thousands of votes and hosted a glamorous awards ceremony where Louise Rennison was crowned the first ever Queen of Teen.

We are now planning 2010's Queen of Teen so if you'd like to nominate your favourite author, cast your vote or even win a ticket to the awards ceremony sign up to our newsletter and we'll let you know when the nominations open.
