Cathy Cassidy takes me to a whole new world. I can curl up for hours and be lost within her books. She makes me laugh, cry and realise how things should be dealt with. I think her books deserve this award and she should be recognised by female teens across the United Kingdom. She is thrilling and really understands life. You feel as if YOU are the main character because of her gift in writing in the first person. She is totally understanding of life for girls aged 11-13 - my age. I think she should win the award for being such a fab writer for teenage girls.

I have chosen Cathy because her books have feeling. There are some things that you just feel, you can't talk about and she explains them through her books. Her best friend comp is wonderful, I have never heard any other writer do a competition for best friends. I have read every one of her books and it seems as if they all have messages hidden in them. When you look at her face it seems so smiley, loving and reliable. Some of her books are heart-breaking and if I needed someone to talk to then I would read one of her books to help me hold it all in.

Her books show emotion and are so realistic that you get hooked onto every word. Every main character becomes someone special and you feel connected with them and see the world through their eyes and it's just magical. She writes really nicely and it's just amazing. I think she should be voted for Queen of Teen because it's like the books are the connection you have with your young years like when you used to believe in fantasy and feel amazed by everything and I like her for that. Finally the thing is her books aren't just for girls but for boys and I think that's cool because that way she is liked by both boys and girls. I think she's a brilliant author and I think she should be awarded for the great books she's written!!

I have chosen Cathy Cassidy as my author because I believe she is an incredible writer and deserves this award! Her books are really fantastic and all of my friends agree with me and think she has an exceptional talent for writing. All of her books relate to a problem, many experienced by her teenage readers: although the stories are fictional the readers find it easy to relate to the characters in them. The books are all brilliant and really gripping - since I read the first of her books I have been hooked and read them endlessly, never getting bored! She tackles different genres in an amazing way, but never bores us. This is why I nominate Cathy Cassidy to be Queen of Teen 2008!
– Katy, aged 11

I have chosen Cathy Cassidy to be the Queen of Teen because when you open the book and you start reading you can't stop and no matter how many times your mum or dad shouts you for your tea you can't stop reading and end up in big trouble. I have read all her books and I think they are all fantastic; the main thing I like about them is how the character is always in a sticky situation and doesn't know how to get out of it. The first book of hers I ever read was Scarlet and I read it in one day it was that good and now I just can't stop reading it and can't wait for the next books to come out.
