Cathy Cassidy went to Art College in Liverpool before getting a job as fiction editor on Jackie magazine. She taught in a Coventry secondary school for a few years and worked as an agony aunt for Shout magazine before moving to Scotland with her husband to start a family. She has two children and they live in a cottage in the Galloway hills in Scotland with sheep and cows for neighbours. Her books, which include Indigo Blue, Sundae Girl and Lucky Star, have sold over 700,000 copies in the UK alone.

- She likes to hang out in her teepee on summer nights and rattle around in her camper van
- Cathy's most treasured possession is a 1954 green Morris Minor saloon car. It now lives in her garden with a climbing rose growing over it!
