Cathy Hopkins

Cathy Hopkins lives in North London with her husband and two cats. She had a varied career before she settled down and became a writer.  She trained to teach art, sang with a rock and roll band, worked as an occupational therapist, script writer and reader, newspaper reviewer on Sky News, and an aroma therapist. Most of the jobs were to support her writing and in 2000, she was finally able to work full-time at the job she really loved. She spends most days in her office, pretending that she is writing books, but actually she spends a lot of time listening to music, hippie dancing, talking to her friends by email and checking out property and holiday resorts on the internet. She doesn't fool anyone. So far she has had fifty books published (so must be doing some work in between emails and surfing the net) and has sold over four million books since she started writing for teenagers.
