Before writing her first novel, 32C, That's Me, Chris taught English and Drama in secondary schools.
She now writes full time but continues her love of drama by working at the Minack, the open-air theatre on the cliffs near Lands End.
One of Chris's other passions is travelling – she has spent time in Australia and has hitchhiked to Istanbul and across the Serengeti Plain.
Chris was born and brought up in South Wales, but now lives in Cornwall with her husband and four daughters.
- Chris's earliest childhood memory is being on holiday in St. Ives and being so hot she got blisters on her arms. She now lives there!
- In her spare time Chris enjoys meeting friends, drinking cappuccino and gossiping
- If Chris could hold a dinner party for any five people she would choose Jamie Oliver (to cook of course!), Paul McCartney, Paul Merton, Billy Connelly and William Shakespeare
- In the summer she adores lazing on the beach all day
- Chris loves Macbeth, and played the third witch when she was a teenager
