Queen of Teen 2008 Louise Rennison is the bestselling and award-winning author of the angst-filled Confessions of Georgia Nicolson.
She was brought up in Leeds but when she was 15 her family emigrated to New Zealand.
Louise now lives in Brighton which she calls the San Francisco of England (apart from the sun, Americans, the Golden Gate Bridge and earthquakes).
Her books with their outrageous titles are all worldwide bestsellers and the first in the series was released as a film – Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging!
After completing the Georgia Nicholson series Louise started writing about a new hilarious heroine Tallulah Casey.
There are now two books about the misadventures of Tallulah Casey and they include Withering
Tights and A Midsummer Tights Dream. Just as wickedly funny as the Confessions
of Georgia Nicolson, the books are set in a performing arts college somewhere Up North and are packed with boys, bad acting and teenage insanity.
Louise once lived in a one-bedroomed flat in Notting Hill owned by a member of 70s rock band Roxy Music – it was quite cheap because five people were sharing it!
Before she found success as a writer Louise performed one-woman comedy shows and wrote material for other comedians
Gone with the Wind is one of Louise's favourite girly movies – it makes her cry uncontrollably!
If Louise found herself stranded on a desert island she'd like a big, fat book with her or possibly a guide to ship building!
Like Georgia, Louise once went out partying in shoes that were too small for her – she had to be carried to hospital to get the shoes surgically removed. Ouch!
