When I first started reading Sarra Manning's books (I began with Diary of a Crush), I suddenly felt as if there was a writer that could directly appeal to me, rather than me just feel unaffected by the events in the novel.

I have chosen Sarra Manning as my favourite teen author because her books touch my heart. The stories pull you in and you find that you can't stop reading until the book is finished. The storylines relate perfectly to the hardships that people of my age and younger go through. I have read many teen books from various authors in the last few years but none of them have quite met the mark like Sarra's books do. She is an inspirational author and even when I'm older I will still probably find myself reading her books. So this is why Sarra Manning is my favourite teen author.

I have chosen Sarra Manning because she truly is an amazing author. She IS the Queen of Teen. Her books totally relate to teenage girls and are so honest. They have characters in that don't have perfect lives where nothing bad happens which is really important because readers can relate to them and find ways to deal with their problems and most importantly realise that they are not alone. She is also funny and really does understand everything about teenage girls, from fashion to friendship to parents to boyfriends and so much more. Her books are amazing and never get boring even after the twentieth read! She really does deserve to be Queen of Teen!

I nominate Sarra Manning because her books are indescribable. The situations and themes that she writes about are so mind provoking yet relatable. All of her books have the power to make you laugh and cry and laugh some more. I don’t think I have read any other books that are able to convey so many emotions in a small amount of space. No matter how horrible or nasty the main character is you always find yourself rooting for them, it’s always easy to see some of yourself in the characters she creates. You have to make sure you have a free schedule when you pick up a Sarra Manning book because it’s a guarantee that you’re not going to be able to put it down. Your attention and imagination is captured from start to finish. Even days after finishing the book you find yourself wondering just what each character is now feeling or what they have done after the events of the book. Basically Sarra Manning rules all!

Ever since I picked up her book Diary of a Crush, my personality has seemed to change. Her girl heroines have become my own personal idols, and I've always had something to turn to when I need to escape from my own world. Sarra Manning has managed to remember her teenage years, and not forget how it felt to be a sixteen-year-old girl with a crush. She’s managed to embrace the difference between cheesy teen romance, and proper true love and place it all in the pages of her books. All I can really say is, when I picked up Diary of a Crush randomly from the bookshelves, I had no idea how much it would change me.
